I love this the photo the story...and the idea that books find us.
such an enchanting thought!
Wonderful image, as well as your thoughts and words.
"When you look you might just find, and you find you might just look." -D.P.
Nothing can beat a good book and a Mexican beer.
...all existence fades to a being with my soul and memories and the sounds of the Big Blackfoot River and a four-count rhythm and the hope that a fish will rise. Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of those rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters.
i've been meaning to read this; maybe i'll pick it up this weekend. i can only imagine it's been an invaluable read for you. regards,
-stephen
nice post and photo, bob ;o)
I'm always amazed at how beautiful a simple Polaroid can be...this is a beautiful image.
A far as the power of books...they can change our lives. One that did that for me was The Great Western Divide, by John Spivey
Love this image and everything it suggests.
Love what you had to say about books finding us. Although, in my case it does take a while before i am able to open up to books that eventually 'speak' to me.
i must be missing out....i think the left side of my brain is turned off....luckily you got both sides going....one for pictures...and one for reading! great shot!
ar yea, this is great.
So sorry to hear about your brother, Bob. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Hang in there, friend.
I recently came back to reading after an absence of maybe ten years or more (between the ages of 12 - 22 I thought I had better things to do with my time). Now I always have a book close...
Love the shot, great atmosphere.
Great post today, and an excellent image.
wonderful thoughts and a great image to back it up.
Did I recommend that book to you? It's one of my favorites.
it's nice to be back here and browsing through your images. your comments for this entry could not have reflected my opinions on reading any more accurately. oh, and since you like music, i wanted to personally invite you to visit my new "84radio" and tell me what you think. i won't post the link here but it's on the homepage, click on the music symbols at the top. :)
