Play Ball!!

I fell out of love with baseball when they went on strike in '94. No World Series. Cry baby millionaires - playing a game I'd gladly play for minimum wage (I can still bring some heat!) - Rat Bastards...

But -- I'm getting over it. I think this actually may be the Cubbie's year. Yes, I know - but hey - I drink Cub's Kool-Aid... I'm a North Sider -- born and raised... There is only one team in Chicago - there is only one Wrigley Field -- and I've spent many hot afternoons - and many chilly nights - watching my Cubs win - and lose.

I've raised all my girls to love the game - and Mae will be no different. She'll understand the meaning of "turn two" in no time...

As for the Yanks hat -- well -- I'm a closet fan - always have been. Have you ever been to The House Ruth Built? I have - it's east coast's little piece of heaven. You enter that stadium you KNOW you're about to experience some serious baseball... The Yanks - God's second favorite team...

There was a time when I NEVER missed an Opening Day - I remember one year going home after a few innings - game called on count of SNOW -- true -- look it up. I miss those days - I miss the smell of fresh cut grass - I miss watching the Blue Crew doing their thing between innings - the field always looked so awesome...

I'll get back their soon - who knows - maybe to catch a World Series Game -- Cubs vs. Yanks --

Yes - I'm a dreamer...

Have a great weekend -- and in the words of Ernie Banks - Let's Play Two!
