I think politics is perhaps one of the most difficult subjects to talk about between two or more people. During all my years of business I never brought up the subject, nor did I participate in the discussions when it arose. No matter which side of the fence you sit on, you'll most likely offend someone.
That being said - I'm no longer part of the business world. It's easier for me to state my views to others, and I'm more informed these days since I have the time to research and gather information.
I'd just ask that you do the same. Research. Ask questions. Read. Read again. Validate. Take nothing the media has to say - or your friends - or the politicians - for granted. Do your own due diligence. That's my new mantra -- DUE DILIGENCE. (Had the boys on Wall Street done their due diligence - we wouldn't be in this mess -- and had there been proper regulation in place... -- I digress)...
Due diligence. This is an important election - wait -- a CRITICAL election. It's NOT about electing the first black president -- it's not about giving back to a POW - it's certainly not about electing someone that's "just like me". This election IS about choosing a capable leader -- one we can trust over the long-haul - one who has foresight, fortitude, patience, intelligence, and tenacity - along with other qualities of strength to guide our country out of the mess it is in.
Yes, I have my own opinions -- but they are unimportant. Your opinion is what matters - and it's up to you to seek - and find - the truth. Our future - and the future of our children - depend on you.
