I'm coaching T-Ball tonight. The weather looks iffy at best - it's sprinkling - and there's a threat of thunderstorms. I'm guessing we won't make the 4-6 year olds tough it out - we can always PLAY TWO another day... I have to say I love this photograph. It was one of the rare times when I actually was very mindful of my surroundings. It happens about every other roll of film - I get one frame I KNOW will turn out exactly the way I saw it - there's never a doubt. This was that one frame. The light was dappled - the street (miraculously) was clear of street cars, autos, trucks and bikes -- and I looked across the street to see this wonderful woman - strolling along. In my mind I could clearly see the shadows playing on her side of the street - and I could see the halo of light around the head of the person just behind her. A rare moment when all things come together just the way you want - and a moment to remind me just how important it is to have my camera with me - ready for just such a moment... The weekend is near - hang in there. Listening to: Foggy Mountain Breakdown - Flatt and Scruggs I'm going to go see this guy tonight in person - he plays a mean banjo |
