I met one of my most favorite photographers not too long ago - Edward Burtynsky. I was pretty tongue-tied, but we managed to have a pretty nice conversation. Today, I stopped in to drop off a few rolls of film and asked if "Ed" was around -- the nice lady asked if I was a friend - I just said we'd met and I just wanted to say hi. She told me he wasn't around but she introduced herself as Mrs. Burtynsky (Actually, Ms. Baxter - kept her maiden name). Pretty cool. She's very involved with their business - and knows what she's talking about - no doubt. I'm in awe - and reminded how important it is to be with someone who appreciates your passions -- and shares in them. Cool.
I get to walk L to school in the morning. I promised her a chocolate chip muffin if she went right to bed and didn't call out for her mom (Ali is just plain worn out by 7 PM these days). I didn't hear a PEEP from her after we sealed the deal in our usual way - by simply saying, "more power to the people!" -- she's pretty cool -- she's going to be an awesome BIG sister -- I can't wait...
