Corner Store

I was chit-chatting with Angie from pinkie style about this photo - we were both reminded of the old glass Coke bottles you could get at your local corner store. For me, this photo brings back great memories of my grand dad. After we finished up chores on the farm, he'd take me into town and we'd get an ice-cold bottle of Coke - so good in itself - and then he revealed the secret of tossing salted peanuts in the mix. So good. So unbelievably good on a HOT HOT day. I miss him. I miss those simple days.

It's the weekend! I'm back in business. I have my workstation set up, and will finish setting up my scanners and back up drives later this weekend. Then, when I get back from Chicago, I'll set my darkroom up and resume my b&w projects. I have missed processing my own film. It's been much too long. I'm signing up for a few workshops here in Toronto. It's amazing how many wonderful resources there are here for photographers and artists. I'd like to take an advanced lighting workshop, along with color management / inkjet printing. Should be great summer fun.

Have a wonderful weekend. I'm heading back to Home Sweet Home Chicago next week. I'll probably have to go buy an air mattress to sleep on - my daughter is taking the beds the day I get back -- oh well -- it's only for a week.

Get out and take some pretty pictures!
