Corner Store

I grew up in a military family. I was use to moving frequently, leaving friends behind, and then making new ones - but, that was long ago. Now, it's like I'm twelve years old again - moving to a whole new country, and trying hard to not look completely out of place and lost. I'm not sure how I'm doing either. Just this morning, I stepped out on the porch with Lainey and I noticed one of the neighbor dudes look up, see me, and say, "Yee Haw" (must have been my NY Yankees cap). It could be just my imagination - or maybe I'm just sensitive. That's okay - I checked my ego at the border and I'm ready to do as the Roman's do (not as American's do :-) )
