Respite

I think today was in the top ten of best weather days of the year. I managed to skip out a little early today and get a nice ride to enjoy it. I think it's going to rain and be COLD for the rest of the week, so I wanted to log a few more miles while I still have the chance.

I forgot to mention, yesterday I saw a few Slate-colored Juncos while out with Lainey. This is the earliest in the year I've ever seen them. That's a bad sign if one is hoping for a mild winter. Juncos are harbingers of wicked cold weather. Get ready - it's going to be a cold and hard winter. Figures, it'll probably be May before I can ride again! Oh well, I have lots of full moons (and nice sub-zero temps) to look forward to.

Terrible or not, difficult or not, the only thing that is beautiful, noble, religious, and mystical is to be happy. Arnaud Desjardins
