Blue Hour

I should have taken another week of vacation. In fact, I think I'll take the rest of the week off. Things are really quiet at work (knocking on wood), so I may as well take the time when I can. I know I'll be right back in the eye of the storm very, very soon.

I'm having a crazy great time taking photographs. I just wish I had a few more hours a day so I could catch up on scanning and processing. I think I have 30 rolls of film to scan, and probably over 100 Polaroids to scan, and who knows how many rolls of film just waiting to be processed by my hands... That's a good thing, right? Man I love images -- have I said that before?

Be sure to check out my Fav link tonight -- I love Jay's work -- he gets better and better each day, and that's what it's all about. Also - be sure to pick up the JULY issue of Black and White Photography - my friends Susan B and Stu have good stuff in there! Congrats, Stu on page 2!!! Way to represent our wonderful city of Chicago! I'm proud of you!

Okay -- we're halfway through the week -- it's hot -- but there's still plenty of film to shoot! What's that you say? Oh, okay -- and plenty of memory cards for you digital fans... Just get out there and take lots of pretty photos.

For those of you who want to know, this image was shot at ISO1600 (quite by accident, I had a bit too much wine that night and took my camera down to the pier and didn't check anything but focus). I was inspired by Alec Soth -- he's a huge fan of the Blue Hour - and now, so am I...
