Span

The weekend is here. I'm looking forward to four days of me time. I'm going to mix up some fresh chemicals and process film. I ordered a really wide lens for my large format camera (65mm - those of you who shoot large format will know that's WIDE) - so I plan on putting the roll film back on my view camera and see if I can find something interesting to photograph. I've been partial to Fuji Acros lately (I have 11 rolls of it to scan this weekend, too) - it's just a great black and white film - black blacks and white whites -- incredibly wonderful stuff.

I hope to do a little cross-processing, too -- use my Holga -- I had to get a new one because I dropped my favorite one in NYC and there's something rattling around in it - there's still film in it I need to finish up, but I didn't want to take any chances with the full moon approaching. I plan on using the Holga this time out. I'd like to try my hand at cross-processing using the view camera, too. Should be fun.

I may not be posting much over the weekend, but maybe I will - who knows. Either way, have a wonderful long weekend. If you're looking for a cool project to work on with your camera, get out there and take photos of things you think best represents America - I'm going to do it, too. Fireworks shots are cool, but there's much more to our country's birthday celebration.

Oh -- and if you're in Chicago this weekend, there's LOTS going on - the Taste of Chicago / Cubs vs. the Sox (Cubs will smoke those guys :-) ) / Cool stuff at the Art Institute / Swedish Bikini Team photo shoot (I'm kidding - but just imagine) ... I'll probably just stay home with Lainey, but who knows -- I may get brave and head downtown to be in the thick of it.

Whatever you do -- be kind to one another. It's the law.
