My Girl

Interviewer: "What do you think about when you take photos?"
Erwitt: "Lunch"

I've included a video clip as my Favorite link for the weekend. Be patient with it -- it'll load bit by bit -- but trust me - it's worth watching all the way through. I will also tell you this - if you're in NYC - be on the lookout - you just may be lucky enough to encounter this great photographer and his little dog...

Speaking of little dogs -- I had to post this image. I took it 3 years ago this coming Saturday. By now, you know who she is - my little dog, Lainey. Anyone who knows me knows that I'd do anything for her. She is my life. I've had a lot of dogs in my life, but never one all my own. All the others were wonderful - and I loved them all - but Lainey is all mine. I picked her out - I brought her a very long way to be home with me - and it's always just been her and I - no one else - just Lainey and me.

I know - corny - sounds silly -- and all that -- but I will tell you a little secret: I need her - and I suspect she needs me. That's the way it is - and that's the way it always will be.

I'm a firm believer that dogs are God's gift to us. Think about it. Dogs serve what purpose? To love their owners - and to be eternally loyal to them. They expect nothing in return - but it would be nice if you scratched their ear and maybe rubbed their belly. Simple. I like that arrangement -- get love - and give love - no strings.

It's the weekend. Yes, it is. I may be taking a little time away from this place. Maybe not. Just don't be surprised, but know that I will return. I promise.

Enjoy your weekend -- and just take lots of pretty pictures -- you CAN do it...
