Pier Point

I like this one a little better than one I posted a few weeks back. This one shows what I call Pier Point - you see it out there on the right - just beyond that point lies the pier I love so much. I love this place - each time I head out there, I probably end up hiking 4-6 miles - and every footstep is simply divine. The lake crashing on one side - coyotes and owls on the other - all while the moonlight falls softly upon me.

I went to pick up several rolls of film today I shot with one of my Rolleiflexe's (yes, Howard - I finally broke them out!) - I'm really pleased with it all. I used a hand-held incident meter for all my exposures - and I have to say that every single frame is spot on. Not an easy thing to do with slide film - I'm now a convert - I'll use my in-camera meter only when necessary. For me - two things are important when taking a photo -- composition and exposure -- as I was taught - compose and expose - that's it - if you get those two things right, you'll probably be successful. Of course, there's a whole lot that goes into a great composition - but hey - play along, okay?

I'm going to break out the new processor tomorrow night and process some color film I shot yesterday - and some slide film I've had sitting around. I'm thrilled I now have the ability to do all my own processing. I even have a cool b&w 4x5 processing gizmo my friend, and fellow T3 user, Jimbus sent me - I'll put it to good use soon.

Okay - enough for now - have a good week.
