Ghost House

Tonight, the moon was bright and high in the sky - it'll be full in 4 days and 15 minutes from now. Hopefully, I'll have a few more clear nights over the next week. Actually, I prefer clouds in the sky and a little wind. I had neither this evening. It's been a good while since I've gone out. The ice has cleared from the lake - spring has sprung. The coyotes were in full harmony tonight, too - a beautiful sound.

Enjoy your week, and get out and take a few night shots if you can! I know I will.

UPDATE: I forgot to include this information, and I know a lot of you like to know - so here's the exposure info (one of these days, I'll figure out how to include it automatically!) -- 172 seconds exposure at f/5.6 - ISO 100 - Canon 10-22mm lens at 10mm. Oh - if you think I purposely exposed at 172 seconds because I figured out some magical formula - you're wrong. I have no magical formula! It does help to have a dslr - especially one as wicked cool as the 20D. It also helps to experiment. Trust me, I've done A LOT of experimentation with night shots. The good thing is I took about a dozen shots last night, and I'll post probably 6 or 7 of them. The rest are fine exposure wise, but I think you'd get bored seeing 3 different views of this house! John at Orbit1.com has written oodles of information about night photography on his site, and I'll probably steal it and post it in my blog for you to see. John taught me the basics - I taught myself the finer points. Be on the lookout for that entry sometime soon (click on the pencil icon above).
