Doggie Diptych

I've always loved looking at Polaroids made by others - I thought I would give it a shot. Actually, truth be told, John found an unopened Polaroid camera I had stashed away. He just had to break it out - and I'm glad he did. I had a lot of fun with it.

During August - here in the US - we have what's called the dog days of summer. When the days seem to just go on and on - and the heat just wears on you. You feel like doing nothing... Well, I think for photographers living in the cold climates of the US (or anywhere in the world, for that matter), we're in a sort of dog days of winter. It's been so dreary for so long - it's hard to think about getting out to make photographs. For me, the moon is no where to be seen - and I'm traveling for a few days this week - so I may miss the night shots this time around. Figures.

So -- this week, I'm going to post some fun things. Just goofy shots ** I ** like -- and I hope you like them, too. When the dog days of winter set in, and we photographers have to find things to photograph around the house - some people take shots of forks, or light bulbs, or egg beaters, or chairs that look like hearts, or yummy looking pesto sauce... For me, I have a deep love for dogs, and I love to photograph them -- and yes I know it's sort of a no-no to photograph and show your dogs all the time, but fuck that - if it's good enough for Erwitt - then - it's good enough for me! I hope to make you smile and forget about the gray...
