Greenwich Village is one of my most favorite places in NYC. There's a corner, not far from the coffee place I hang out in (Soy Luck), where these tiles are displayed on a chain-linked fence. They are all so beautiful - so many vibrant colors. After reading so many messages of sorrow and heartbreak - I decided to use b&w film to capture the image. It just felt right.
