Star Struck

Mary Ellen Mark was her typical wonderful self. The show was cut short - not by much - by the smell of smoke in the auditorium. There's been several fires in Toronto lately - arson is suspected - and another big one was set tonight not far from where we were.

Anyway - Mary Ellen Mark's work is just incredible. She's been doing it for so long, and so consistently. She's such a good person, and it was really nice to hear her talk of home (my beloved United States). She showed us her recent work from Exposure -- but also shared several images from a few other projects. Now that I think of it, she had planned to show us some work she has never shown publicly - dammit -- she didn't get to it because of the evacuation. Oh well -- I never miss any of her publications, so I'm sure I'll see her new work soon enough.

Alison came along, and she said Baby Traces was kicking and squirming the entire time. I believe we have a photographer in the making :-)

It's the weekend! I'm going into week #9 of my comeback workout regimen. I'm ready to take on Mike Tyson! (That's not saying much these days, I know). I'm feeling great...

Enjoy the weekend. The leaves are falling all around -- get out there and enjoy this fine fall weather... My friends down under are all out taking great photos of spring bling!

One last thing - in case you thought I forgot all about long-exposures and night shots - think again. I'm working on a little something, but you'll have to wait a bit. I plan on unveiling something new here on No Traces - I think it'll be pretty cool... Stay tuned...

Wait -- one more thing -- there are 88 days left until Christmas! Hope you've been good...
