My mother scanned this image - blame her. But before you do - she just turned the big SEVEN OH today! Yes - 70! I think you get one of those medals for knighthood for making it this far!!
Seriously, when my brother and I we much younger we thought my mother was a movie starlet. It's true. We were mesmerized by her beauty, she looked just like the movie stars we'd watch on the old black and white TV. I'd tell my brother that mom was just taking a break from it all to raise us - she'd have to leave soon to go accept an Oscar. My brother would cry. My mom would slap me silly. At least that's the way I like to remember it.
Mom - of course you know your beauty still mesmerizes both Kurt and I. How could it not? You made pancakes for us for dinner! God that was heaven to us. You sang lullaby's to us when we were scared of the night. You let us play our 45's and dance way beyond our bedtime - and we always knew the words, "Wait until your father gets home" meant nothing - we believed that you were in the next room dancing and laughing right along with us -- you couldn't fool us!
I love you mom. There is nothing - nothing - I'd change about our life together. Thanks for teaching me the important things in life. I think I turned out sort of okay - because of you.
Happy Birthday!!!!
PS -- Mom -- take a look at the Fav Photo tonight (taken by my good friend, Maxx) - recognize it?
