1904

In January 1904: The distress signal CQD is established, only to be replaced two years later by SOS.

I souped 4 rolls of film tonight - all in XTOL 1:1 for 9 1/2 minutes. I like the results a lot. Now, if I can just figure out how to keep the edges nice. I seem to be getting either water marks - or maybe too much agitation during processing. I'm not sure -- I'll have to go a little gentler next time. I give the tank a nice twist after each agitation cycle. I really enjoy processing b&w by hand - I'd rather not use my Jobo to do it -- but maybe that's the only way to keep the edges clean and smooth.

Okay -- enough of the silly technical talk -- I went back out this evening and shot more of the house. This time I kept an eye on what was going on inside - no signs of ghosts. This is the shady side of the house. You can see the peak of the roof from the road - and the date. I like that. Why don't they do that any longer?
