Despite my cold, Alison inspired me to get my butt out and shoot 7 rolls of film this past weekend. I should have them all processed in the next few days - I'm anxious to see the negs, I used the camera I've selected for my one camera / one lens project. Stay tuned.

A note on this particular photo -- I rarely crop my images. It's a personal thing - a personal photo rule, if you will -- compose in-camera -- use the camera as your cropping tool - get it right the first time. Someone taught me to see the image first with my eyes - then compose in my mind - then capture it with the camera. I do my best to follow that advice - but it doesn't always work out that way.

I happened to turn around to see this image - composed it in my mind - but my hand and eye couldn't frame it up and capture it before it all fell apart - so I did my best to capture the image in the frame and worry about cropping it later. I think it turned out pretty close to what I had in mind.
