I was born in Chicago. I've always loved the city. For me, there's no other place on the planet like it. Each and every time I fly home I'm always excited to see the skyline. I look for the Sears Building - the Hancock, the Amoco Building, Wrigley Field, and all the wonderful lights guiding us home to O'Hare (formally known as Orchard Field). No matter where I go, or how long I'm gone, I'm always happy to come home to my birthplace - Chicago.
I was standing out on the rocks to take this photo. I like this vantage point because I can see the tops of the Sears and the Hancock on a clear night. On this particular night there was slight cloud coverage in the south, so all I could see was ambient light from the city -- that's okay by me - I love the city lights. Speaking of which, I'll be enjoying a little downtown fun in a few nights with my daughter. We finally managed to connect, and we'll partake in a little sushi at my favorite restaurant. Maybe she'll let me take portrait or two.
Wednesday is here. We're halfway home to the weekend. The time is flying this week, so I can't complain. It's suppose to be in the upper 60's tomorrow - I'm hoping for at least a quick ride on the bike, if I can get my work (and workout) done. Thursday's suppose to be warm, too - I'll manage to clock a few miles one way or the other. Then, I have a feeling it'll be time to give her one last good polish and store her in the warm garage until spring - or one of those global warming days in the middle of January.
