Bird on Roof

From my Holga Challenge -- I'll get the rest up in Flickr when I get the chance. My eldest daughter came to visit me yesterday, and she decided to stay another night - so we're on our way to hear the Wallflowers and the BoDeans play in Milwaukee - should be fun.

When Courtney was a baby, I'd lay her on my chest while I napped on the couch. I read somewhere that babies first learn to discern particular heartbeats, and bond with those they recognize. Of course, they have their mother's heartbeat to listen to for months before birth - and that bond is probably the strongest of all in the universe - no doubt. But - I wanted in on the act, too. So - she'd lay on my chest and hear my heartbeat -- and I'd like to believe the bonding process worked -- because, even now, when I'm in a not-so-good place - she appears - it's as if she senses the heart she knows so well has somehow gone dark - and she's determined to somehow revive it... This is what I like to believe -- and it's what I believe to be true... Thanks, Courtney -- I feel better - and I love you...

It's Friday -- what more can I say? Enjoy...
