At Last...

If you flip back through my night shots you'll see this pier - I shot it in late fall, when the water was so very calm - I shot it again in the dead of winter (if I remember right, the temperature was right at 0 - without windchill). Now, I'm officially kicking off the summer - yes, that's right - the summer - with this shot. Hey, it's my site - and, to use an expression my daughter loved to use when she felt particularly brave: 'you're not the boss of me' :-) --- So, it's officially Summer in No Traces land...

For those of you who like to know these sorts of things: ISO 100 / 511 seconds / f/7.1 / 10mm. The moon was big and bright Friday night - the wind was up quite a bit though - and sand kicked up on my lens causing some flaring - and the waves were kicking my ass as I tried to move in for closer shots. I don't mind the waves, they just have a tendency to move the sand under my tripod - causing blurry photos... I like to set my camera just inside the water line - I think it makes for more dramatic shots -- I have a couple coming up in the next few days - you be the judge.

Anyway - I took my film camera with me, too -- I'll process the roll today. I think I shot 4 frames - it takes me a lot longer using film. I have no idea what to expect -- I'm hoping for a happy surprise when I finish fixing the image to the film.

It's Sunday - full moon officially rolls out tomorrow around 3PM. I'm really hoping for clear weather tonight or tomorrow night - I have some new places scouted out - I didn't get to them on Friday, and last night was a complete bust - clouds spoiled the night. So - we'll see. Stay tuned - and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
