I've been spending a lot of time with film. I really can't get enough of it. Yes, I deal with dusty negs - which means long cleanup times. The new Photoshop CS2 helps cut the times down quite a bit. I LOVE the single click healing brush - and the intelligent sharpening is to die for. If you're contemplating the upgrade, I'll tell you it's well worth it. Things feel snappier in this version, and for all you digital lovers (including me for night work) the RAW tools have really improved nicely. There's built in noise reduction, too!
As for this shot. I'm working on my metering and film processing techniques. Which means I'm going back to my foundation, the basics, if you will - carts and hydrants :-) I know where to find plenty of both. The nice thing about the carts - I usually can get a nice contrasty shot like this one - especially when they mysteriously end up in the water...
If I can get some moonlight tonight, I'll be out there taking some shots. It's been rainy and cold during this full moon phase. So -- I've basically been skunked, except for the heronry shots. If you're interested, the next full moon is the Flower Moon - and will arrive in 25 days, 18 hours. Hopefully, it'll be a bit warmer and dry.
Be sure to visit my Flickr site (the little icon above with the squares inside) - I'm throwing up some "B Sides" of things -- nothing too exciting - but you may find them interesting. Take a look at my contacts stuff, too -- some really cool work out there. Also - don't forget to contribute something for my dogsbreath.org site! I WILL post them! I promise!
